I didn't think I would even get this far, but I finally finished my first build. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me out. All of the tools I used were brand new to me and I had to learn them by myself, which made the project quite a challenge. I learned what to do (and what not to do), and I am sure that the next build will be even better. I'm going to take it on a long ride about 30 miles south of my home, it should be fun. I think the next project will be a tall bike, and I think theres a tall bike club around here because I saw a group of them in a parade. (I live in Gilbert, Arizona) Again, thanks to all who helped. Here are some pictures

Well Preston, that is one heck of a nice ride by anyone's standards, & if that's your FIRST, then it's downright fantastic!
Really nice, man! First rate! I like how you painted your cranks to match.
Looks like you got the fit "spot-on", too! Super job!
You've now graduated from your freshman class! Welcome to our elite club... :D

Congrats! That is one nice ride, Preston! The first time I saw cranks painted-to-match and they look GREAT! I've only got four more years 'till Social Security...maybe I'll finish a project before I retire...
What's next?

Thanks a lot- the cranks were originally flat gray, and I didn't think it would go too well with the color scheme I picked out.

Hey, I'm sure that your new ride will turn out great. I look forward to seeing it!

Not to hi-jack the thread, but how do you do quotes from 2 different people in the same post, Preston?

All I did was quote one person and copied everything in the box, then go back and quote the second person and paste the material. I suppose you could quote as many people as you want.

I have probs with my knees and hips so my balance isnt very good. But another big reason is I want to my build to at least 90% of my traveling including grocery shopping and I just feel 3 or 4 wheels would make puling a trailor better. I chose the loderunner because it already has the truck bed in back so I wouldnt have to experiment on my first build.
I also understand you take the cost but I finally decided it was worth it when the only 3 wheel delta bike i could find was 900 and i also heard alot of bad comments about it. So you can easily beef up abd experiment with these builds and come up with something that is truly yours and does exactly what it to

i am on disability so i know what it feels like to have to save up to get anything for your build but i just keep reminding myself that i am builsing something that will be mine and just like what i want so it makes the saving up time go by faster:D

The key is in what you said earlier. You can build it the way you want. A lot of times, that means not knowing until you ride it. I kept doing things over and over again, because the seat was too low, or the BB was too high for the seat position, or the steering was in the way, etc. Even if I paid $700 for a bike or trike I didn't quite like, I'd be reluctant to make any mods. Even if you know exactly what you need, and you find something close, getting custom tweaks when you order it will add hundreds to the cost. So far, the only commercially available trike I found close to my needs was the Lightfoot, which ain't cheap, and it still needed some tweaking.
