just a thought, on vehicles like the delta wolf with the head tube welded to the frame in a position where you cannot remove the part of the front fork you have liberated from the legs of the fork. trying invertong the part of the fork where the threds are down and using a file die grinder or whatever tool you like to enlarge the hole in the botem of the fork tube. that way if needbe you could remove the whole steering ass to greese it or replace the bearings. im thinking about tryong to get another fork and trying it out. :D

I must admit, I am not seeing this. I do best with visual aids!

bacicaly mount the head tube from the frame in the normal posititon, and invert the head tube from the fork. the only hitch that I have seen is that the hole in the bottem of the tube from the fork is smaller, that can be solved with some judicios file or grinding, you would then be mounting the gooseneck in what was the bottom of the forks head tube.

In other words, turn the steering tube upside down, and weld the bars to the fork crown. I guess you could weld the steering tab to a stem and insert it through the bottom, but it would have to be very short. On the Meridian and the DR, I made the pilot tube longer so not only can I change the bearings, but I could use a 8 - 10" standard stem and mount the handlebars in a normal fashion. On the DW or S Fighter, you could probably use a normal length stem because the seats are much lower.

I think I get it now. The Meridian is done like that, having the crown facing up and the handlebars stem welded directly to it.
