First bike I made was a Marauder. Probably the best one as well. Actually sold it to the UPS man at my work.

Been intrigued with Sparky ever since I saw it the first time. Never built one but always wanted to.

I did buy, however, one of those cheap gas powered motors that can been attached to a bicycle for a motor-bike sort of vehicle.

Now I think I'll try to combine all 3. A gas powered Marauder Hybrid.

Think of this:
A Marauder stretched by @1 foot, behind the seat. A gas motor; hooked up on the left side just as intended with the gas tank on a bar from the upper rear of the seat to the top of the rear wheel brace. The electric motor, placed in front of the gas motor with the chain from it running down the right side. Batteries on the tube in front of the seat. Strictly mechanical....no pedals. Should give me the forward momentum of the electric to get the gas going and then I'm off to work. 15 miles each way should cost me 3 gallons a week at the most plus a charge every night if I want to run........... s i l e n t.

Whatcha' think?

If you drop a hubmotor on the front wheel and run it and 48 volts, you will probably drop that gasser in the trash can after seeing how quiet and fast your new electric vehicle will be.

Makes sense. Given the fact that I'm rather stout at 230 lbs. and on a modest budget, what would be your recomendations on such an outfit. Size, company to purchase from, components, etc...

Do a google for "hubmotor kit" and there will be a ton of good info and many suppliers to read about.

You will have to decide on top speed and range for your machine.
