Rear Wheel Question

Does anyone know what type of spare tire was used for the rear wheel? I have the tire measurements, but I'd like to know the brand and model of car it came from. I don't have a junkyard close by so I'll need to order a spare tire off of Ebay. I'd like to make sure I only have to buy one wheel. It's hard to tell if some of the wheels can be cut up the way they are in the plans. This one looks like it might work. It's just hard to tell from the photo.

Any steel car rim and tire ever made will work for this project. The goal is to choose one that you like. I chose the small emergency spare because I liked the round profile. On OverKill, I used a 16 inch wide dragster tire because it looked so out of place on a bicycle.

On The Vigilante the diameter of the rim and tire means nothing since you are not adding bicycle spokes. You could use a bus rim if you thought it would suit your ride!

My spare was from a 1999 Chevy S10. I also had one from a Ford Taurus that was a good choice. All steel rims have the center welded in place, which means the grinder can break them all.

Thanks for the info Brad. I've never really looked that close at steel wheels before. I wasn't sure if it would be a pain to cut out the centers on some of them. I can't wait to find a wheel so I can get started. :)
