Rear Hub Size

I finally found a donor BMX bike for my project. Unfortunately it's pretty small. I disassembled the rear hub and the tube is only 3/4" in diameter. And the axle is only 3/8" diameter. It seems way too small to survive much abuse (which I know it'll get if my son rides it).

Does anyone have a recommendation if I just want to buy a hub? It's taking me forever to find donor bikes.

Ok, maybe I need to rephrase my question. Does anyone know where to find a generic rear wheel hub for a bmx bike?

Any idea if this one would work?
