Brad, what is your opinion on using 4 of the EB20-12B1 http://www.electricrider.com/batteries/index.htm for this?

Also, any idea of potential range using these?

Those are good batteries. Often the wheelchairs I get for parts have those installed.

The 12 amp hour batteries would probably give a range of around 25 miles or so (without human input) using a hubmotor like mine (450 watts). A larger hubmotor, or cummute full of hills would probably need more "juice" unless you plan to really put your muscle into the mix.

Brad,
For the Delta Runner EV project I'm planning would a set of these be better, or the Optima Yellowtops?

I woulnt run the optima batterys, they are good batteryes in their own right, but they are very meavy, and for a hybrid ev/trike, im not sere they would be ideal. there are wheel chair batterys out there that are much better suteded.

Doggone it, Brad! I didn't even want to watch the cyclebully video, much less build one....now, I just have to have one! What a deal!
Tell me, Is it really as fast and fun to use as it looks to be in the video?
What really pushed me over the edge was Kat using it with the Delta Runner. The DR is what I'm gearing up to build my "Cat" as soon as I work out the cable issues with my StreetFox.

Oh, yes, it is very fast! On the GT, it felt like I was being towed by a car. And to think, my motor is only 450 watts. Imagine what a 750 watt hubmotor would feel like.

Notice in the video how easy it was to spray up the gravel?

So much fun.

What is your estimated top speed with this trailer?

What was the cost to build it?

I've already ordered my motor & batts, & started work on the trailer, although I can only go so far right now.
Besides, I'm still trying to wrap up the Kroozer in the meantime...

JOEY,
It's definitely not a race, but I just got my CB plans! In looking them over I realized that I have everything that I need except the electrics. I've promised the DeltaRunner first, so I've got to get busy! The cables are giving me fits on the StreetFox...may have to load up and come to South Carolina for help!
LL
PS Where did you order the motor and batts from?

BTW, checked my e-mail. Thanx, LL.
Your kind gesture is definitely appreciated!
Will send you the info as soon as I hear from my sister.
I've been busy today, & when I came in & tried to reach her, no answer...

Hey, I'd give MY left one if I hadn't had to burn all of those Bens I got outta my van, just to own it!

I just hope & pray that it actually works, cuz I won't know for awhile!

Brad..........Just downloaded the Cycle Bully plans. What I'm wondering is........is the hub motor a 36 volt pushed to 48 volts to get the extra speed and power? I have a 36v Wilderness energy 600 watt hub motor on a 26 inch rim and was wondering if it was feasible to run this on 48v.
The controller is 50 amps, or so they say. Would this run the motor on 48v? I am very excited about the trailer and and getting ready to start on it. Another of your excellent designs.

Radical Brad

Yes all Wilderness Energy kits run fine at 48v (I was told) and many of them can take a lot more. You will lose the functionality of the three throttle LEDs though.
