I live near Pittsburgh PA so finding steel shouldn't be a problem right?

Got some ridiculous quotes at first but called around until I found a deal. In the end the two places I think I found the best deal on were very small local outfits

one had 1.5" x 1.5" x .083" x 24' long for $39.60 (a little heavier wall than I wanted)

And finally the winner was $27 for a 24 footer in .065" wall.

Worst price was from Ryerson (a big service center) at $220 for a 20 footer. They said they had to ship it in from Chicago

Found several prices in the $50 to $60 range

In the middle of my calls I called Dillsburg Aeroplane works his price was $1.68 per foot ($40.32) but he had to cut it into 8' lengths and package it for fedex. $10 packaging fee Fedex fee of ???.

I also asked about 4130 chrome moly for fun since that's what Dillsberg specializes in. It was $10.00 and change per foot

Be prepared to make a few phone calls to find a good price on tubing. I was astonished by the spread between the vendor's prices.
