Does anyone remember the old diamond-tuck fabric for doing headliners and walls in vans.
It had a sticky backing to slap it right on the wall or top.
Was like fake leather or something.
Kinda looks like what RR used on his seat.

I had rolls of this stuff at one time used to do old panel vans up in it with some round teardrop windows and skylights.

And then have my buddy do custom murals on them and 2 tone paint.

The old chick- pickup van.

Looking for some of that fabric to do a seat with and can't find it anymore.

Heck I think I got mine at local parts store back in the day, it used to be popular in the late 70's.

Ask RR if he has any more toy boxes.

I remember diamond tuck. I know I have seen it at upholstery suppliers online already made up, as well as the old tuck and roll ribbed type. THey sell it in sheets, so all you have to do is cut it out and sew it into your seat. Have you checked any online suppliers?

You can also make it yourself if you can sew a halfway straight line.

I still have the old "chick pick up van"! Unfortunately, these days, all it picks up is dust...

Being the ol' hippie that I am (or was), I still have a tiny scrap of the diamond tuck vinyl, too. It's about 18 x 24 inches.
Prolly too small to be of any use to ya, but if not, you're welcome to it. It's dirty, but it'll clean up nice...

Wow brings back memories of my old '67 split windshield VW van with the Dead Head decal on the back.

If you look closely at that piece, you will see that all you have to do to make it with straight lines is to mark the lines off on the vinyl with some chalk and put a puffy backing behind it. Then sew where the lines are and you will have a nice piece of diamond pleat. For extra oomph, add vinyle covered buttons at each intersection.

This place probably has it, as well

As would most any automobile upholstery shop that does older cars.

Just don't pull a Joey. There's enough kids without bikes. We don't need any without toy boxes. :D
