I was at my local Walmart today and stopped to look at the bicycles. Several had new lower prices. I found this one with dual disc brakes (front and rear) interesting. It has a rather odd suspension on the back, and is aluminum, but still might make a good donor bike if you are looking a good donor with two disk brakes. The rear triangle is bolt on to a SF anyway, and appears to be steel. The shock can be relocated. The sign on it said, Old price $299. New Price $199. Several other bikes had new lower prices, as well. I believe it may have a thread less headset, or a zero-stack but can't tell for sure from the picture.

If you want to use a 20" rear wheel, the first bike, although the pic doesn't show it, also has dual disc brakes. The bad thing is, they had an X-Games bike with a 3 pc. crank and 18 speeds and dual discs for $170 last year, and reduced it to $120. It was replaced with this one. The other two also have disc brakes, but i think they're only in front.

Yes, it's getting to the point know where you can purchase an entire bike for the price of just a few components. The forks and front disc hub wheel on that $199 bike is worth the purchase price right there.

When you add up the bill for all the small parts like chain, rims, brake parts, etc, a discount bike for under $200 can be a great deal.
