G'day All

Im waiting for the 2 AZ bike building books to arrive from Amazon.

I want to build a recumbent Hand Bike with a 180deg crank. 2 wheel version,not a trike.

I am thinking I can use an electric motor on the rear to get the bike up to balance speed. As the pedals will be driving the front wheel.

I need to keep it as light a possible.

Question is what is the lightest setup for me to use, running 5-600w motor?

A 'Crystalyte' brush less hub motor or can anyone suggest an alternative which may be a lighter?

Pezz :)

Hello!

I guess it comes down to... how much $$$ do you want to spend? There was an amazing electric bike link posted by Papa a while back that used a large model aircraft motor and Lion batteries. Although way out of my budget, the claimed weight to power ratio was amazing.

I will see if I can find that link.
