hi all i am building a new trike for a friend who's son has brain damage and cannot ride a normal bike. the trike will be a delta trike and short wheelbase, i am also thinking of putting some sort of bucket seat or something with a back rest, and remote steering so the bike will be easy for him to get on and off with his carer to help him. he has lost most of the use of his right side of his body, but i feel i can make the trike work by using a fix wheel setup at on the Axel, that way when he pushes down with his left foot the right will follow, i will also put some sort of restraint for his feet to hold them onto the peddles, need to think about that some more.
anyhow more and video soon.

hi all got a seat off a toro zero turn ride on lawnmower with a seat belt and arm rests i went to honda in my town and asked them about a seat and walked away with a free bee thats right FREE its amazing what you get when you ask and i told them what i was going to do with it and who the bike was for also got some steel for free as well just went into my steel man where we deal with through work and asked for some scrap steel for the trike and bam another free bee. so now its off to the workshop ( my carport ) to start building the new trike. here is a photo of the trike before i cut it up.

Im baaaaaacckk. My cat thought my mouse was a , whell MOUSE. after playing it to death, it started acting up. I have been strugling with it for mounths but have been to cheep to replace it. I just did.
******Now back to your regulary scheduled thred*******
Mark, you have a big heart, the one concern I have with your plan is stability. by moving the seat to the rear you may cause the trike to become nose lightand easy to flip.much like the old atv three wheelers. You may need to legnthen the frame by more than the two or three inches you planed.

hey beast man i have though of that and will be adding weight to the front in the form of a basket for his carer to carry stuff in. the young fella only ways in at 40 kilos ( 99 pounds ) and he wont be going very fast maybe 1 to 2 kph ( 3 mph ) and he never rides alone he always has a carer with him at all times so i am not too worried but will try it out by ridding it myself and i am not a little boy ( 250 pounds ) yea i know i am a fat boy but i am cuddly lol.

lets just say that I have alot in comon with Buda As well.
On the trike You may want to consider wheele bars, just some short ones. put roler skate wheels on them, they would be the envey of the naborhood. .
the next thing you see all the kids will have them:D

hi all i have had a rethink on where to put the seat so now it will be further forward of the back Axel and with the sliding of the seat it will slid further forward as well so as to keep the weight on the front wheel. i will finish the welding in of the seat then install it today. i have made a spacer to go in between the back and front of the trike and will drill the holes and bolt it in as well. video soon.

hi all well i have shelved the ride on lawn mower seat as the first fitting has found out that the seat is too high:scooter: as i don't want to cut the frame i have deiced to make one from scratch using some round pipe and some mesh.
as this trike is a Christmas present:xmas: i think it would be quicker for me to make the seat rather than modify the mower seat. photos soon
