Ok, I ordered the hubs from here, and waiting now, guess its official, I've started ordering stuff for my Fox....
>>Try Bitex hubs. They're discussed in another thread. The cost is $50 a pair >>for the 20mm thru-axle hubs
Next will be rims and spokes... Whats the best deal going for rims for the fox?? Also will need a good tire or two.

Alex DM24 rims are a good choice. Good quality, not too expensive. For tires, Hookworms are good if you use wide tires, Kenda Kwest, also sold under the Pyramid brand name are good if you want thin tires.

I like those Alex rims, too. As for tires though, I like the nearly treadless pattern of the
Primo Comets a little better myself. Like the Hookworms, they're also rated at 110.
They came standard on my tad, I've put 'em on the Kroozer,
& I even have one for the upcoming CycleBully as well.

Wow, the Bitex hubs really really look nice, they came in right when they said they would arrive no surprises, :sunny: very good service. They are very light for how big they are, and I like how they did the bearing sleeve all the way through, perfect for only being supported on one side. I do need to start looking for axles now to fit, 20mm.
I like the rims I'm going with the Alex rims. Also the Primo Comets, even though they are $30/piece they cost more than the hubs, akkkkk, they just look nicer than the hook worms. But the hubs are so pretty and nice, I have to have the slightly more bling bling tires even at the price.

You paid 30 bux each? You should've got 'em from http://www.danscomp.com/search.php
They have 'em for half that!

I did end up ordering the tires from these guys at the better price http://www.danscomp.com/search.php
For the disc brakes what size would be a good rotor disc?
200mm?
180mm?
160mm?
I am going to go with mech brakes for this one. Still looking for either a 20mm to 14mm adapter or just some 20mm axles,, has anyone gone the adapter route, from 20mm to 14mm, I think just a sleeve would do it.

160mm is more than enough diameter for a 20 inch wheel.

I'm trying to figure out the whole spoke length thing again, for the Bitex hubs, the manf. web site is not much help for getting the right spokes.
Not sure for two of the questions:
* Hub Center to Flange Center: ????
* Hub Spoke Hole Diameter: ???
Anyone out there built one of these, I would really appreciate some help on this hub. Also axle solutions for the Fox.

Hub model# DH20M w/DM24 36 spoke rim
Choose the Wheel or Tire Size: 20
Effective Rim Diameter (ERD): 395
Hub Flange Diameter: 58mm
Hub Center to Flange Center: ????
Hub Spoke Hole Diameter: ???
Number of Spokes in the Wheel:36
Cross Pattern (3 cross, 4 cross, etc):3

The spoke hole diameter is 2.5 for 14 ga. spokes. To get the hub center to flange center, just measure the width of the hub from flange to flange and divide by two. When measuring, measure from the outside of one flange to the inside of the opposite flange for better accuracy, although being off by 1 or 2 mm won't make much of a difference. Also, make sure you measure the flange diameter from spoke hole to spoke hole, not the flange itself.

The Bitex rep is currently working up a quote for me to include a pair the 20mm trike hubs with deep-V rims and complete wheel buildup, axles and brakes. I'll post the results when I receive the quote. If the pricing and shipping rate is good then I think it would save a lot of time and hassle to buy them already built up. OTOH, my LBS charges $40 for wheel buildup, not including the parts.

Ok, thanks "Kid" for helping with that, from what the program is telling me, I am going to order 72 186mm spokes for these wheels. Not sure what the Sutherland's Rim Correction Factor means but don't think it applies to me anyway.

Hey if they have axles, let me know what you get from that, also I would be interested in the brakes since I've not ordered them yet... But the more important one is the axles,, if they have them, it would be great. Please post what she quotes you.

For spoke length calculations I found this was pretty good. I used it to work out flange diameter for my existing spokes on the Wolf and to calculate spoke length for the rims on the tadpole. It was in the ballpark both times.

I use this one, because the other doesn't go below 400 for the rim diameter. Alex DM 24's are 395.

Spokes Rims and hubs all laced up, perfect on the length of the spokes, I have to get them trued but looking good for now. I'll have to start a picture journal for this build now since its starting to look like something.

Getting back to work on this after the winter. I am still looking for a way to adapt the 20mm bearings on the front wheels down to 14mm approx.
Getting the tubing in for this project next week.
