This is the best deal I've found so far:
http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=23769&item=50-6814&slitrk=search&slisearch=true

Does anyone know of a better deal on a complete kit?
(Odds are, if anyone does, it'll be "TheKid") :D

Joey,,, I got these on Ebay about 6 weeks ago,, he listed them as a "Buy Now" for $74.99,, I offered $5 less and he was good with that,,, He had several sets,, not sure if he still has em, and still list em,, but I was thinking of seeing and if he is still there,, I was going to buy another set for another build later on.

That's kool, Terry. It was worth a shot, thanx.
The one's I'm lookin' at are only $5 more, anyway.
Nashbar has 'em on sale right now for the exact same price,
& their shipping is exactly the same as well, $9.25 to where I live.

I got the same ones a year ago from Nashbar, & they were only $60 then!
Wish I had bought more at the time!

So I haven't built anything with discs. Would it be easier to incorporate fronts or rears to the front of a tadpole? Inquiring minds (mind) wants to know...

Really the only difference is the way that they are mounted -- the shape of the mounting tab. Order two rears and you will have two of the same

I bought some. Anybody else? I will let you know how they look when they arrive.

Right now, it's listed for $19.98!
Over at mtbr.com forums, they're listed for the same $20 on pricepoint. no one seems to know much about them though.

So I didn't follow up after I received my twenty-dollar-disc-kits form Price Point. Like I mentioned above, I have never added discs to anything so my frame of reference was, well, I don;t have one...

So they showed up intact, without a lot of fanfare, and they look decent enough. I took them to work and asked one of my homies what he thought. He is a big-time mtb wiz with a mega dollar juice brake 2 pound no ounce ride (I don't know what it weighs actually, but some of my son's diapers would give it a run). He gave them the thrice over and actually said "Hey, not bad. especially for 20 skins". Suffice it to say that I'm not sending them back... I don't have the hubs for a disc setup on the first SF, but I'm already planning an upgrade!:punk:

Steve I would say those look pretty good for as your buddy said 20 skins :D.

So Steve, didja get 2 calipers & only 1 disc, or is that just all you're showing in the pic?

Or is it $20 for each caliper & disc?

when using disk brakes on a tadpole do you flip one side around so the lever is close to the spokes or have one side lever facing forwards and the other side facing backwards but both on the side away from the spokes (if that makes sense)

After I posted that, I noticed OMO's link to the site.
Must've overlooked it, first time through...

I was on the Hostel Shoppe site the other day and looked at their specials. Found (2 available) HU Grimeca rear hubs, 32 hole with the disc flange for $10 each. The regular price was $46 each, so I snatched them both up. They came in today and look pretty nice, especially for 10 bucks! That puts my rear wheel total so far at $30 for the disc setup and the hub! Now I need a screamin' deal on a rim and some spokes and I'm ready to make a mess of things lacing it up myself! :punk:

Here's a pic of the hub. TEN BUCKS! Who loves a bargain; THIS GUY!!!

Great catch on those hubs. What size are the axles?

I have not measured them, but they are smallish... I would say 3/8". I was thinking about what it would take to gut them and use them as front hubs with 14mm axles... Sheesh, 10 bucks, I can't hardly hurt anything if I trash them...
