The weather has put a damper on my fairing progress, so I've been figuring out turn signals, brake lights, etc. A friend suggested looking for a used moped. The handlebars already have the switches in place, so it's just a matter of rewiring and relocating the lights and horn, and the brake switch. I was thinking this would also with trikes and quads that aren't faired. I've seen used mopeds for $50. I'm thinking that a delta with 20" rear wheels and the front moped fork and wheel could also be used, making a pretty radical machine, especially with a canopy housing some solar panels.

and another advantage of the donor moped is an excellent front brake. (and speedometer)

Try Freecycle & other area free classifieds.... a while back I asked for old scooters/mopeds /etc, & got 3 yamaha scooters. All non-runners but a bunch of usable parts.

Most all my bike/trike projects end up being a combo of ICE/pedal powered, so the quality throttle controls & carbs & stuff all come in handy.
I'm thinking of building a Delta...and a heavy-duty 2-wheeled cycletruck.
