Hello from Alberta.
Am new to the forum.
I started building tall bikes a couple of months ago after getting some bikes given to me. I found this site and have gotten some great information from it.
I have a picture or two that I will upload when I figure out how.

Okay here are some pictures....sorry about quality as i'm not much of a photographer etc. I have been been playing with bikes for about 3 months now. I have built 14 so far.
only 2 are powder coated. I built the powder coat oven from a filing cabnet. I am using a lincoln 100 weldpac. I am using flux core for now but am adding gas when I can find the kit.

A guy gave me about 100 bikes to work with....about half are older mountain bikes and the rest are older 10 speed, kids bikes etc.
I found that old file cabnets work well for storing organizing bike parts etc.

Say, didn't I meet you on Tallbike.net when Lou was still with us?

Its definately cold here too -20 or so. The thing is compared to what we can have -20 may feel warm in days to come.
My garage is heated by a small heater but I only run it occationally.
I am hoping to do some building this winter.....tall bikes for sure and i want to build a spin cycle or two....maybe even 3 or 4.

Hi folks!
I'm Dave (a.k.a. "Babe") in Edmonton, Alberta.
I'm totally new to building. I've gt some very rudimentary bike repair and maintenance skills, but that's it. But wow, the possibilities that are unfolding before me are amazing!
Sadly, I don't have a garage. I have a very tiny basement, and a parking stall in an underground parkade (that my car usually occupies). My neighbour may let me use his parking spot. I'll have to ask him!
I've just read the "Welding Basics" page. Intimidating stuff, but stuff I'll have to learn!
Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself. Also, I'm on the Edmonton Trails, Paths, and Routes Advisory Committee: http://www.edmonton.ca/tprac
Cheers!

Hey Dale!
Wow, 14 bikes in three months? That's about one every 6.5 days! Good work! Is that normal?
Cheers,
Dave

Hello Dale. Those are so cool. I've never ridden a tall bike. If I ever have the chance I will make sure I do. Welcome to the group.

Hey guys
Thanks for the comments. I sent some pictures to be posted in the gallery. A few got added. There is one of my quad bike with myself and my wife riding. There is one of one of my tall trikes and then the tall bikes. I have not been doing much this winter...waiting for spring...also I have quite a few bikes built. I have given 7 tallbikes away to family members and we ride a lot.:scooter:I am waiting for the weather to warm up:sunny:

Right on Dale! I bet you're super excited about the spring coming soon!
I'd love to come out to Camrose to meet you and see your bikes and maybe test drive one!
I'd also love to see your workspace. I live in a townhouse condo right now, and I have no workspace other than a tiny little basement space with our laundry machines in it and a couple of underground parking spaces. Right now I'm very curious about people's workspaces.

Sounds good. I work in Edmonton so we can meet at noon some time if it works for you...
