Where'd you get your flange bearings? RR said he got his locally, but I've been unable to locate any here OR on-line.
There IS a bearing store in town that would have 'em, but since they specialize, they're prices are higher than a cat's back!
Also, what's a good place to buy those threaded brake rotor adaptors that screw onto a wheel hub?
(Forming another plan here....)

Joey Tractor supply is a good usually local source of bearings and pulleys as well as lawn tractor tierod ends which is where I got the pulley and tie rod ends for the Baby Tadpole.

Believe it or not, I was there this afternoon, Rick.
No such luck. They do have bearings, but not flange bearings. :(

Struck out again, Rick. Looked at all 300 items!
Even "Big Bearing Store" doesn't have 'em. Neither does McMaster!
I've done google searches, looked at tons of sites,
& still no luck.
I'd have never dreamed they were such a rare item!
It's like trying to find a henway.

...unless Kid pops in and smacks us bothOh, I gaurantee he will. I know from experience!
That's why, if I can't find something, I usually go straight to him.
Believe me, if it's on this planet, he knows where to find it!
I did find one place that had 'em, but only up to 1/2" bore, & I need 'em to fit a 5/8 shaft...
I guess, as a last resort, I could prolly coerce RR into pickin' up a couple for me & shippin' em to me,
but surely it won't come to THAT!

I don't know if you have a McLendon Hardware in your area but I saw some there on my last visit. It's an Ace Hardware outlet.
SirJoey

No McLendon, but we do have Ace, which I haven't tried yet, but I will, thanx Locutus!
Didn't really figure Ace would carry something like bearings, especially special ones like flange bearings.
You guys just wait till TheKid gets here. He'll teach you ALL a thing or three! :jester:

SJ,
The photo of the bearing your posted is one made for light duty low speed use and won't last until the end of the block on an HPV.
Here is the McMaster catalog page with the flange bearing you are looking for...

Hope that works, it's a long link!

Thanx Brad, but for some reason, I can't scroll past the ones for a .312 size shaft.
I keep getting the good old "error on page" message in the lower left! :(

I finally got there by going directly, & bypassing the link. Anyway, I think part #6384K365 is what I want.
Thanx, Brad. At $10 each, a little pricey, but these should hold up, eh?
