So I'm bit... El wife-o has already accused me of being obsessed with this new hobby. It seems that when I get into something, well, I GET INTO IT!

I bought the SF plans a few weeks back and started collecting "materials". I donated $20 to a local green org with a community bike workshop and got 2 steel el-cheapo frames/forks (2 matching headtubes), a kick axx 26" Araya RM20 rear wheel with cassette, a large Specialized Hard Rock frame/bars/misc with 3PC, a large GT Outpost MTB frame/bars/misc with 3PC, and a variety of misc front and rear derailers (for parts). I found a WallyWorld full-suspension MTB for $35 COMPLETE locally and snatched it up. I Niagara'ed a pair of 14mm 20" fronts last week (and a few misc tools) and today I called my local steel yard and got the quote for the raw materials. The wheels were $60 plus freight, and the steel is less than $15 out the door tax-title-and tags. So I'm in it for about $150 so far (including the misc tools).

So I'm pretty set for materials for now and plan to start very soon. I have a couple of existing projects that are taking most of my spare time (see pic), but the wife-o is pretty great about hooking me up with some shop time... I'll keep the posting up, and do what I can to track the hours and simoleans. Stay tuned!!

Sounds like you're pretty well set for now, Steve.
Sounds like you did a pretty good job of sourcing your
parts without having a fortune in everything, too. WTG!

Yah, keepin' track of your hours is nice, too. I keep pretty meticulous records
on all my builds, & can always go back & see exactly how many total hours it took to build one,
as well as a detailed list of where every dollar went. Keep records, you'll be glad you did! (JMO, FWIW)

Lookin' forward to seein' some pics of the up & coming Mojo-Machine! :punk:

Steve I can understand the long term projects . I have 5 of them ranging from 13-23 still at home and one of them has already given me a new 2yo grandproject ( thus my Babystreetfox project ) :D and I have another grandproject that should be showing up in the next couple of weeks according to the doctors :D.

Henry was born 9/18 at 26 weeks... His due date was 12/25 and he came home from the hospital on 12/27. I found you guys and this community while living out of a hotel or apartment while he was locked up (as I like to call it). His hospital was 3 hours from our home. This forum and the AZ Guru Krew provided me with endless hours of humor, ideas, and really helped me maintain what little sanity I had. Thanks, and I look forward to contributing to the effort.

Peace

"funny thing" about the baby carrier mod; about a month before I got into this new hobby, I donated a drag-behind kid hauler (2 seater) to my local Salvation Army re-store. Now I wish I had it back, if for nothing other than the wheels and solid axle!

In the mean time, I've already bs'ed (thant's "brainstormed) up a hauler for both kids that it worthy of being towed behind the SF but I would love to see your krazy thoughts!

I can also hook it (or my cargo trailer) up to the Kroozer,
or the LR that I'm currently working on.

Congratulations! All you guys with the long term projects beat anything I could do. And you have good reasons to work on smaller versions of these short term projects we discuss here.

Thanks Sir. Interestingly enough, I ran a Doogle search for "universal doohicky" and came up with some VERY interesting search results, none of which looked like your pics...:cheesy: Also, I'm digin' the seat on your trike. Did you form it up or buy it off the shelf?

Thanks for the congrats Kid. I am truely a blessed man.

Well I'll never have a dungeon like Moe, but I will get this thing done sooner or later...

Started striping the Wallyworld special tonight and got 'er done. Looks like it will work well for the rear triangle and whatever else. The chainring was bent and it must have been rubbing on the pivot bushing for a while as it ate into the bushing, and the plate on the triangle. I'll flapdisc it smooth and call it done. Anyway, it's progress...

Spent the entire day today clearing trees of the property. Lost 5 pines starting at 14" dia and going up to 22"... I have a LARGE FEMA pile for the city to pick up next week...

Steve good te hear your back home . We havent thawed enough here yet for me to mess with cutting up trees and since none of the downed ones are causing eminent danger I am not that worried about them as of yet. We are thawing some today but may get hit again tomorrow through wednesday with another batch of winter joy :D.
