I have bought 1.5 inch EMT. I was thinking of bending it rather than cutting and welding. Any thoughts about strength issues?

I suppose it would depend on the tubing thickness and the application. Is this thin or thickwall EMT? If thick, I wouldn't worry about it. If thin, or going unsupported over a long length, there might be an issue.
Personally, considering most EMT (thinwall in particular), I would always bend rather than weld, if I could. Yes, you have to have the bending tools, but small price to pay to not have to deal with burning holes in tubing, or weird fit-up from cut ends.
