I had seen this ad before, but never realized the seat is hand made by the author of the www.recycledrecumbent.com web pages that so many of us have drawn inspiration from. If you don't want to go to the trouble of making your own mesh seat, this is a pretty good price I think, and I like supporting those who share their knowledge as A. D. Carson has done for so many years.

Having made my mesh seat for my DW mostly from Carson's online help pages, and knowing the cost of the mesh if you buy it, I can't imagine Carson is making much per hour selling these seats for this price.

A nice option to have. Thanks for sharing this.

I believe I can do the welding, getting the steel at correct angles, get the chain and components right, but seat building?

Brad's seat design for the StreetFox seat is pretty good and would work fine, but I have to admit I really like the mesh seat on some of the commercial tadpoles I've tested, the Cat-Trike seat was very comfy. These look similar to that.

Has anyone bought one of these? I see the black one was sold, whewy.

I was torn about buying a couple of those, because I really wanted something more like RANS, but way out of my budget. Also not sure how it will work on my modified KC, so I am sticking with Brad's approach on several trikes and quads for my first gen - the rigid foam on plywood with steel frame. Then I'll see if I want to change it later. I agree Carson's seats are attractively priced, but have never seen one in person.

This thread is so old, that Carson's eBay link is of course dead. However, if you are bent that way, you can still buy any of the parts he sells (including entire frames) off his web page.

I prefer to roll my own, but compared to what EasyRacers charges, Carsons prices for a TE clone frame are outstanding.

I wanted to build my own and still will build a High roller during the winter but buying the kit was cost and time effective for the amount of riding season left here in Michigan. I'll start assembling my kit this week but still need some parts.
