I've been having trouble with a build that I thought would be really easy. Stuntbike (20" wheels, stiff frames, single gear) frames are really easy to find here since local kids go through them so fast. I found a frame that I really liked and tried to fit a 5 sprocket rear wheel into the rear triangle. The hub's like a half inch too wide and the frame won't flex at all! How can I spread the forks uniformly so I don't mess up the alignment?

Must be one heck of a frame!

Try a threaded rod and a pair of nuts and washers. You might be able to have a helper spread the frame using two small tubes as you drop in the axle as well.

This works on frames as well as forks.

Yes, indeed - that looks effortless. Good one.
