After 9 years of employment I had to quit my job yesterday because of abusive conditions. I am hoping that I will have a new job tomorrow, as I interviewed there on Friday. Its double the distance of my old job, and is 10 miles away. So, now I need to get the Meridian done so that I can blast to work! :)
Now I just have to get the job for sure! I have everything for the Meridian, save for the chain and the rod ends. I'm getting better at welding, and am going to increase the amperage on my arc welder to try to get a cleaner weld, easier.

Hey Rykoala,
Tough break on the job situation, sorry to hear that, but maybe you'll come out better in the long run. Glad to see that you've put a positive spin on a negative event! Keep the faith & work on that HPV, while you've got good motivation!
10 miles is (IMO) about the perfect distance for a good daily ride to & from work. In my younger days, there was a period for a few years, that I lived 13 miles from my job. I would normally bike on Monday & Tuesday. Then I'd take a break & drive the car on hump day. Then, I'd break out the ol' bike again & hump it to work on Thursday & Friday. I did it year round, regardless of temperature, as long as I could get traction! It was good, therapeutic training & it kept me in prolly the best shape of my life!
Now, get cracking on that Meridian, so you'll have it ready for the rides to the new job! :)

Thanks guys! I don't know if I have enough parts to finish the Meridian, but I am going to try to cobble together whatever I can. I can't afford any parts, so I have to use JUST what I have in the garage. Posts about that coming soon...

A sudden change can be a good thing. Gets the motivation kicked into high gear. Chin up, it will all work out.
