It reminds me of the bikes from Akira. I would ride one. The only problem I see is no passenger room.

That's awesome!
After nearly 2 years, I wonder why we haven't heard anything else about it?
Suppression by big oil, maybe? :(

I was thinking the same thing, the only thing they need is the tilt steering, and a full cowel.

The time is right for electric vehicles. I find more people than everbefore are ready to step up. I've been doing surveys for years, and most people in the past just don't trust new-fangled electric cars,(Even when told they've been around for over 30 years) or they don't go far or fast enough, or they're too quiet. Even back in 2002 when GEM's were offered for $2000, they didn't sell. They were being promoted around here because on Long Island, having a car is a necessity, and an economical vehicle for local shopping or local commutes was thought to be a sure hit. Hardly any were sold. But now with the economy the way it is, and green tech being promoted by the government, things may change. The problem is it's being promoted by the government. They can't get anything right. If they were smart, they wouldn't give the big three a dime. Let them go out of business, and offer the myriad of electric car manufactures low interest loans to take over the existing factories, retool, and hire the displaced auto workers to mass produce their vehicles. Of course, that would mean the UAW would have to give enormous concessions, but if they don't want those jobs, there are plenty of others who would gladly take them. All the other related industries could just change and build parts for the electric cars instead, and the dealers would sell various brands of electrics instead of GM's and Chryslers. (Ford says they're still solvent, but they could also take advantage of the loans to produce more of their own green vehicles.

Looked a little wobbly in the first corner or two. Could be vid shake, or my eyes.
If it's a Honda (driver had honda logo on his clothes) I'd drive one.

Actually, they're over 100 years old :). I have a box somewhere that has a bunch of article and ad reprints from around 1900 that feature electric cars. Check out this Porsche: http://www.hybrid-vehicle.org/hybrid-vehicle-porsche.html

That's true. Some of the first cars were electric, which were practical since gas stations weren't around yet. Once gas was easy to get, and cheap, electric cars faded in popularity. They came back in the 70's, but there wasn't enough demand for them. Ford had a news conference back then, touting their new electric pickup. News stories followed, complete with videos of the manufacture and road testing. But they never really caught on.
