Hello World,
I have been hacking bikes and things ever since I was a kid. I quit drinking and needed something to do to keep my mind off the beer store...lol. I don't have a welder as of yet but as soon as I get a job in this post Bush economy I will get a small mig unit. I am mostly into building chopper bicycles. The kind with long forks, ape hangers and sometimes engines. I like lots of stretch and rake. I've looked around on here some and I am wondering just how those car rims were spoked up on some of the bikes. Any tips? I would like to give it a try later on....well..ride fast and raise hell..peace...:punk::rockon::party:

We always used to stay at a motel just off the interstate in Ringold, when my sons played in soccer tournaments in Chattanooga. Nice little town, what there is of it. Anyway, welcome aboard. Its always nice to see another Georgia member. I think we have about 4 or 5 here now.

Hey People...
I will have to do alot of reading and research on stuff. At the moment there are just no jobs here or anywhere close. I can't even get a job at subway. I can mig, work on cars, build houses, build bridges, operate some equipment and can't find a job anywhere. If I had a driver's license (thanx for the tickets ) I would get my CDL and hit the road.
But anyway,it's good to know there are people around who like to hack things too...thanx for the hospitality....peace to all.....

I need help. I need to get the rear gear set thingy off my mt. bike and don't have the right tool. Can I make one or how can I get it off without buying the tool? Where do I buy the tool anyway and what do I ask for? I just call stuff thingys and hickydosiers.
Lend a hand here...thanx people....

Welcome CWL! The car rims were spoked by hand, alot of drilling, alot of patience.

CL - I expect you are referring to a freewheel removal tool (hub buster). Many of us zombies make our own being the frugal sorts that we are. I made mine from a big bolt welded to a nut, as Brad explains here:

You may have to be paitient with that LucidScience link - it can be very temperamental at times.
