I don't know if this is a good price or if it can even be used for building our rides. I can't wait to learn how to weld!!

Most say to stay away from Harbor Freight Wire! They say it doesn't welded very well!

You might try a smaller roll to start off with and see how you like it. I bought some of their 1/16" 7014 arc welding electrodes and they are great.

A friend of mine has a Century 140A MIG welder, and he uses HFT wire on a regular basis. It seems to run well enough for him, he just built a roll cage in the cab of his Jeep.

PW, bear in mind that your welder is FLUX ONLY, unless you have a gas hookup of which I'm unaware. That said, the carbon wire you referenced is MIG ONLY, no flux inside. The smallest flux wire I know of is 0.030", which you should already be set up for.

Er70s6 wire is good wire althouh I only run lincoln or hobart wire heres the catch it is a wire that requires shielding as in other words it wont work in a flux only machine . the smallest wire you are gonna get for a flux welder is .030 .

You can buy a rig to hold a chunk of brillo pad that will scrub the wire as it passes through hopefull knocking off any scale that may have accumulated. In true Zombie fashion though I am sure someone here will make a rig to do teh same for pennies and post it up.
