I built my DR with a 110v 80 amp max. inverter welder from Harbor Freight, and also rebuilt my tadpole with it.
well if its ok iam going to buy it as it only costs $377 and i think it will be money well spent:rockon: all i got to do now is wait for my books to arrive and i will be in like flinn

Check that welder for optional equipment. You may be able to TIG weld with it. Funny thing about this hobby is that it becomes addicting. You may find you have a desire to develop all kinds of skills.
yes kid ya can get an optional tig welding kit which includes 12ft wp17 v tig torch and disposable Argon cylinder and an Argon regulator and tig torch consumable kit and it is not a bad kit all that for $200:rockon:

If I could swing the cash, I'd go with it myself. OMO loves to TIG aluminum, so he could give you better insight to thea welder.

I can't tell which welder you guys are talking about -- if you could give me a link to which one it is, I would be more than happy to take a look and give you my completely inexpert humble response.

Even if it's inexpert, it's 1000 times better than mine.

I did a web search for starweld welding machines and did not find much -- sooo unfortunately I can't comment other than to say that any first welding machine is a great one. And your second will be even better!
