View Full Version : HFT Tubing Roller (item 99736)

Has anyone purchased or used this tool?

It seems this would be great for bending custom chopper shapes as well as many other pieces. One problem is that it doesn't come with dies for 1.5" tubing, only 0.75", 1.25" and 2.00". (There is also a separate die set available to bend 0.50" square tube.)

I contacted the HFT technical department and was told the HFT purchasing agent could have additional size dies made if there is demand. They wouldn't connect me to the purchasing agent but his assistant said she will give him any info I send. I'm trying to build a case for HFT to make 1.5" dies available.

Does anyone think they might purchase this bender as is? What about if it was able to bend 1.50" tubing in addition to the other three sizes?

Someone in this forum bought one, played with it and returned it. Hopefully they will join in and respond as to why.

I believe they said the only thing it was good for was large radii, like if you were building a railing for a boat.

I'm not positive but I thought they got the pipe bender which will only bend sch 40 pipe (heavy black iron or galvanized) ....

Like I said I may be wrong!!

I went to HF today to get some welding rods and asked when they expected to get a tubing roller. (I'd heard they were scarce.) The cashier checked and told me there was one in stock. He asked if I wanted it. I told him yes if I could have it for the sale price of $129.99, which expired 3/1/09. (The regular price is $179.99.) "Sure, no problem," he replied. Good example of "ask and you shall receive."

I will test the roller over the next few days and report.
