When disassembling wheels for projects like the DW, pay attention to the cross pattern. Yesterday, I laced the first Wheelsmith components with a 3 cross pattern with no problem. After lacing the second one the same way, the spokes were all way too long. I measured the spokes from the first hub/axle - 260mm. The spokes for the second one were 270mm. I checked the spoke length calculator, and lo and behold, the same hub and and rim called for 270mm spokes for a 4 cross pattern. These were both Wheelsmith HD wheels, with different cross patterns.
I relaced with the 4 cross pattern and everything worked out fine, but lost an hour and wasted work because I didn't check the cross pattern before disassembly.
