Hi everyone,

Has anyone had problems with the aforementioned assembly under heavy pedalling? I'm wondering if there's any noticable movement. Also, I am about to weld this up and I'm concerned about the strength of the weld in this location. It seems like it would be under a lot of stress if you were a real masher (that's me, wedgie at ~70RPM cadence at 20MPH average :) I'd like to be able to REALLY put some torque on this eventually, but I worry I might break something... While I'm asking, has anyone gone DOWN in gauge on this bracket (1/8" instead of 3/16", for instance)?

Thanks!
James

Do you have experience with recumbents? They require a different technique than DF's. Consistent mashing on a bent produces injuries since you can't use your entire body weight to push on the pedals. The pressure is concentrated in the knees hence the injuries. Bents require you to gear down and spin at higher RPM's, especially on hills. Failure to do so will make you the hero of the hill for a while but will give you a limp (at least) for a lifetime. Hope this helps.
