Once upon a time the village dunce almost threw away a StreetFox , of course him being a dunce he didn't know it was a StreetFox he thought it was just some old roller guides for a garage door. Fortunately the village blacksmith happened by at the right moment and convinced the dunce to load the StreetFox into the smith's wagon instead of throwing it into the pit of despair.

After a little tack welding you could see 2" x 2" tubing.

After a lot more grind, check fit, grind, check fit it looked a lot more like a StreetFox

The village dunce even tried to throw away these 3" x 1/2" ball bearing pulleys !! ( with a squirt or two of Merlin's "Wizard Derust # 40 they were as good as new.)

Ken - What a novel use of stuff. I never would have thought of that. It never ceases to amaze me what can be done with a magic wand (welder). :jester: Also, very funny presentation!:jester:
It would have been cool if the curved section could have been used as the vertical portion to mount the rear triangle (I assume that it was too short). It would have looked great to have that curved 'square' tube look.

That was my first thought too, but it is too short, then I thought rear dropouts? maybe next time?

I finally found 2 matching forks, not like the ones Brad suggests, but workable.

I didn't have any 1/2" steel for the tabs but, I remembered from math class that 8 X (1/16") = 1/2" so I took a piece of garage door channel, flattened it with the vice, and cut 16 pieces of 1.75"x4"

Then using the vice I folded them in half giving 8 pieces of 1/8" 1.75"x2" which made 2 piles of 1/2"

For these wheels and tires, center point steering was about 12 degrees

Just to double check I clamped the two together to see if the angles were the same.

looks good!Clever! Yep, looks like you nailed it, alright! :)
If I didn't already own one, I think
I'd attempt to build one my own self!

Ken, you've got the true 'Yankee' spirit.....
"Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."
A truly 'recycled' cycle....!!!
Nice work....

OK I have some more pictures.
Making sure each side leans back the same, somewhere around 15 deg.
That's what i like about Brad's plans, where you have to be exact he says "be exact" where it doesn't matter he tells you approximately what it should be.
In this case it doesn't have to be exactly 15 deg as long as they are exactly the same.

This is a great test track, if it doesn't fall apart here the welds are good.
