Ello,

I was poking around on the MAKE site {If you haven't been, go look lots of fun little things there} and this popped up. It's an open source, all in one, machine shop made from old car/truck parts. Currently the creator is trying to make it to MAKER Fair in Africa to show it off. Dunno if anyone would be interested in building one, but I thought I would share. The video has the instructions for building it and if you follow the link in the little blurb about it to the website they have a message board going and even plans for building a hydraulic press, 2 ton screw press, and an air compressor from crap... also a couple book files on farm blacksmithing. At the very least I found it interesting from a mechanical stand point and hope one day to have the space to see if I can build it.

That's cool. I'm downloading the "How to Build"

as a long time member of the site I would suggest a full on in depth read of all the build instructions.
This is not a project with measurements, it requires a lot of thought.
Its a very heavy machine and can be a problem.
That said it has a heap of potential as a full on machine shop.
Spend some time in the groups folders as there is a heap of stuff and ideas.
