Hi All
I started writing this post and my wife called wanted to know if we had some taco shells or should she buy some, well when I got back here and looked at what I had written I realized why I don't post often........ I ramble too much. So all that's gone and I'll start again and try to be brief......
1st I wanted to say what a great group of creative craftsmen, you guys all rock!
Ok now on to my find, I just finished completely stripping the paint off my bike and replacing the head tube with a larger tube so I can mount a disk brake fork I've been wanting to install. I had to decide what to use to paint it. I generally paint my bikes black and so off I went to the hardware store to buy a can or two of Gloss black Krylon / Rust-Oleum whichever, but I noticed a spray can of Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating and decided to give it a try. Well I this stuff is great, nice coverage and after sitting out in the sun for a couple of days the surface is a nice mat black and appears to be hard as a rock. My crappy welds are pretty much covered up and I even think this stuff will add some additional strength to the frame. The downside, I'm thinking it will be miserable if I have to take it off to do anymore welding or modifications.
I'm hoping to have my bike back on the road next week so if anyone is interested I can post an update on scratch resistance. But at the moment I'm thinking my next project is going to be a Street fox and its going to be painted Truck bed coating black.
Thanks again
Steve
