ok was not happy with the initial "pitchfork" rear frame assembly I had built and decided to use some other tubing I had around, however since I am not using the preformed bends I don't know how long to make the " tines" I am talking about the legs that the axle bearings are actually bolted to. Does anyone have any suggestions ? hmm I am needing to know how far it is from the end of the rear frame is from the point where the main tube and the two bends all come together. it appears as though the bends are about as long as they are wide ? is that a good rough guess ?

Hi Dan,
It needs to be long enough so you can get the rear wheel in and out. I think if you take the dimensions from a diamond frame bike with the same size wheel you should be right.

thanks John, but I am working on a trike where the wheels are outside of the frame, no problem with clearance in that regard.

I went ahead and made it "square" about as long as wide.. well ok each side is square, in total it is twice as wide as long.
