[Odd Man Out]

I found by chance a great source for faux carbon fiber seats -- they are made out of fiberglass reinforced plastic and wiegh 1000 grams. The lightest carbon fiber seats wiegh in at 450 to 550 grams, that is a whopping 1 lb savings. The thing is, the carbon fiber seat costs begin at $310. The seat I found is made and shipped from England and comes with a 5 year waranty (for all that's worth...) and can be at your home for $99.13 (today's exchange rate). I think it's a helluva deal. I spoke with the seller and he can provide as many as we need. He can sell different sizes also. Here is the current link to the seat on ebay as of 23 Aug 09;

Nice looking seat,isnt there anyone state side making them? Seams like a pretty simple mold. I know a guy that builds custom boat stuff very strong very light. Balsa plywood and carbon laminated over it. I'll ask him if he's interested in making a mold for us bent guys.

The comparable is the ActionBent FTP seat for $165+
They do have a lower end seat for $89
