I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone. I am from Inverness Florida (about 30 miles from Ocala). I have been a CNC machinist for 20 some years and I have a machine shop that serves the aerospace industry. The shop also happens to be right beside the Florida rails to trails bike path so I have quick access to about 30 miles of bike and jogger only pavement to enjoy.
I am working on putting together a tadpole right now and I am very excited about it. While I will have machined parts on the bike I actually found that the Zombie plans are better than then other trike plans I have seen because of the way they are written to allow freedom of modifications. For instance - Rather than the plan just telling to use such and such wheels and this angle it goes through the alignment process of how to get zero point steering, so that you understand your build, I really like that.
I will be building my frame from square and rectangle aluminum, mainly because that is what I work with mostly, I have a bunch of it, and it will look really cool. :sunny:
I would be interested in getting with other local builders to do fun projects, I love to build stuff. I am not looking to get into the bussiness of making bike parts, I already plenty to keep me busy. :rolleyes4:
