Hi, I live in northwest Florida AKA the panhandle. when I was looking around on the web to get pointers on how to weld my sailboat trailer together and found AZ. These machines are great and I'm looking forward to building one. Got a hobart arc welder a few weeks ago and trying to learn how to burn this metal stuff together.

Welcome to the sanity!
Burning metal together is easy ... practice, practice, practice & then more practice!
Just remember that your grinder & file set are you best friends, and don't be afraid to use them :jester:

Come in and join the fun. Just remember that once you start there's no way back. Drag out that welder and grinder and get started.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I went with the Hobart 235LX AC. It is a very basic unit with no frills but the infinite amperage adjustment seemed like a good idea and it has a pretty good warranty. I will keep you all posted with any progress. It will probably be a little while before I attempt anything other than a bike for my daughter.
