I rode my trike in a 50 mile bike ride this weekend. My average speed was 10 mph. The name of the ride was "A Dickens of a Ride" not because it had anything to do with the author. It was so named because the course was uphill all the way, ok, I'm exaggerating a little. But, the reason for this thread is I want to put fast tires on my Warrior. The trike I rode this weekend has 20 X 2.125 knobby Mongoose tires on front and a 26 X 2ish knobby mountain bike tire on the rear. I've been looking at the Catrike website to see what tires they have on the 700 model and they have Schwalbe Stelvio tires. Where can I get a good price on these or something similar?

Schwalbe's are excellent tires -- definately not inexpensive. I buy my schwalbes's directly from the website;

The Stelvio's are no longer being produced. I'd suggest the Durano's or the Marathon Supreme's. Either way be prepared to spend at least $150 for tires for your trike...

Thanks Odd Man. How about a cheaper alternative?

And here is a big selection to chose from. Higher pressure skinny tires are faster!

Dan's Comp has the Hookworms (110 psi) for $15:

I like the Primo Comets (110 psi), but they've gone up to $19:

I've been using these with great results.

These are the first slicks I've had and I have been impressed by their toughness and the way they stick in the wet. I think they hold better in the wet than any other tire I've used. And this at a rock hard 100 psi. I have had these for over a year and figure I put between 300-350 miles a month on them. No threads showing yet, knock on wood (right hand knocks on head), though there is a small, flat area developing on the crown of the tire.

I like the Primo Comet's too,
Kenda Qwest tires are 100 PSI, are cheap, and can be found at just about any Local Bike Shop (LBS). Sometimes they don't stock the 20's at my favorite LBS, but it usually only takes a day or 2 to order them in.

I like the Kendas too. I use them on my tandem to take my daughter to and from school. I'll probably use them on my Warrior also. I like for all the tires to match on a vehicle and Specialized doesn't make the Fat Boy in a 20" tire. Still, nothing beats the Fat Boys on my DF for a fast and skinny tire. IMHO they are the best thing other than a 700x23.

Thanks for the tips and links. I should be able to find what I need from them.
