How much would the handling be affected if I put a 26 inch wheel on the front of the WildKat like the TourMaster has. I know I would need to lengthen the down tube and top tube and adjust the headset angle for proper clearance.

I have managed to come up with several 26 inch donor bikes, but no smaller wheels and I was wanting to know if there is any specific reason to not use the larger wheel.

Why not just build the Tourmaster instead, and incorporate underseat steering?

That would work, I just already had the WildKat plans.

Managed to pick up a discarded 24 inch wheel bike. Frame is in good shape, but the wheel has a lot of rust. It isn't pitted too much, just looks bad. At least it is closer to the 20inch wheel.

A little steel wool, some shop soap like Goop with abrasives it it, and some elbow grease should make a big improvement on the wheels. Mineral spirits works too, but smelly, and wear gloves. If they are chromed, finish them off by polishing with some foil from the pantry.
