This last weekend I worked on my winter bike and cleaned the bearing and greased them. I read online that people have used a Marine type base - so I got some from WallyWorld and used it. This was a blue type tube, not for sure what "brand" it was, but I think it was generic type.
I'm curious of what others have used and if they used the same as I did, what kind of performance did they get from it?

I use black moly grease.
Just because I have a tub of it.
Its very sticky and very soft and there does not appear to be any sticksion in the bearings.

As long as it's grease for bearing surfaces, I doubt you'd notice any difference. Better greases will last longer in wet and dirty environments before needing repacking. I've used no-name stuff as well as rather expensive Park Tools brand - other than how it handles, I couldn't tell the difference once the bottom bracket was assembled.

I like Phil Wood waterproof grease. Most LBS's stock it. It's very close to the same grease as the waterproof trailer bearing grease that you get at WW and Academy or any boat dealer. I like having the Phil grease in the small tube rather than dealing with a grease gun size tube.

I use BG SS 2000 Lubricating Grease. I'm sure its over kill but I have seen this grease tested up against all the other grease we had in the shop. Its water proof and nearly bulletproof

I use marine grease in the wheel bearings and BB and headset. It is waterproof and seems adequate. The stuff I have is blue. I noticed a lot of posters on the OZ bike forum use it too.
