My 6th child! Thus the name, Nexus 6. (Also, my affinity for sci-fi!)
Like my very first, The AlleyKat, this one's just another SWB bent, but at least this one is a 15-speed (as opposed to the 6-speed AlleyKat), sports a couple of little accessories, a much nicer seat, & has a lower COG.
Thanx to "Wood Butcher" (Mike Meagher), for doing a fine job on the seat, & for machining those sporty lookin' seat-stay clamps near the dropouts.
Great work, Mike, you've added a touch of class to my latest ride!

Another job well done. Your work is getting better every time.
That looks lots better then the $799.99 made in China (SUN) bent I looked at in the bike shop today.
Good job!

SirJoey - awesome job! Sweet internal routing on the cables. Where did you get the golden bird emblem? Classy touch!

Joey, your work is simply amazing.....it just keeps getting better with each new build. I am really impressed with the nice clean welds. Hopefully one day, I will learn to weld as good as you can.

Joey, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!
What I mean is, why aren't you out in the market, selling these gorgeous machines! No pressure, just build, ride, and sell, one at a time the way they used to do it in 'the good ol' days'. Your work is TOP NOTCH, absolutely fantastic. I'd buy a SirJoey 'bent in a heartbeat!

WOW guys, thanx a lot, you're too kind! It certainly wouldn't pass for factory though, & it's a shame that I had to use that "boat-anchor crankset", but I'm doin' the best I can with what I have to work with (in more ways than one, heh-heh).
At least I've finally evolved past the "zip-ties" stage, anyway! (And it only cost me $125, too!)
The gold eagle is a flag pole topper. It is intended to be a tribute to the late Sheldon Brown, R.I.P. (Those of you who've seen his pic, will understand.)

Sir Joey - I think Sheldon would like that. I remember how saddened I was when I found out about his illness a year or so ago. He helped me a lot with his websites when I first got started, and had a thousand questions about road bike equipment. He even answered a few of my stupid questions on the alt.bicycle.tech newsgroup. I sent him an email when I first found out and told him my thoughts and prayers were with him. He took the time to write back. He was a real trooper. It must have been hell for him in the last year, when he could no longer ride a bike. Near the end, he could not even ride his tadpole without problems. Sometimes when I am feeling sorry for myself on a long ride, and those legs are burning, I remember Sheldon, and think about how lucky I am to be out there riding.
My one regret is that I didn't know about Sheldon when I lived in Cambridge for a year about 8 years ago. I would liked to have met him then, but I was a runner, not a rider then, and didn't know about Harris Cyclery or Sheldon. He was always willing to share what he knew with a newbie. The World is a better place because he was here. Display your eagle proudly.

Yes, internal routing is the way to go. My DW is set up that way, and it's so much neater. I was going to do the same with the tadpole, but there's only one cable that it would work with, and the seat hides it well, so there was no point. Thanks to 25HZ, of Fleettrikes.com, for that idea, and also the grommet free lacing of the mesh seat. (Thanks also to his buddy, who taught him the no grommet method.)
Nice tribute to Sheldon Brown, Joey. He's a good friend to millions who never met him, and he'll continue to make new friends as long as his columns stay on the Net.

I couldn't agree more, Kid. He was a true guru! I e-mailed him one time with a question, & knowing how incredibly busy & swamped he was, I didn't really expect an answer, other than maybe a link to the necessary info, but sure enough, he answered me personally! If I'm not mistaken, he told me he received about 700 e-mails a day, & that was after the spam was filtered out!
Anyway, he really seemed like a great guy, in addition to his vast wealth of knowledge! Like so many other folks, I've availed myself of that wealth of knowledge & info, many times! :)
BTW, Nick, if you're serious, e-mail me an offer. I'm not MARRIED to ANY of this stuff! LOL!
