I recently bought a mt bike for my rear end and found the the pivot for the rear end is almost directly above the crank. Just wondering that if the pivot is centered in the rear of the main structure and the main structure is set at 9" from the ground will the build come out ok? and if given a choice what would be the ideal height of main fram at center of front wheels?

You've waited a long time for no replies so I'll take a shot...
If you cut the tabs per directions and cut the fork stem to 1" as directed and you use 20" wheels..front height will be correct despite how the rear pivot is positioned. I do not know the exact dimension.

My donor bike's pivot is in front of the crank, not above....I intend to center-frame the pivot anyway as directions show and "cover" BB holes. If it doesn't look good, I'll take the rear completely apart and re-work it until it looks like I want it to.

Come on , more experienced builders...help us out here with some comments.
Thanks, Larry

Must have missed this one!

Can you post a photo of the bike? Even an ad from the stoe would be fine. I think I know how your frame looks, but want to actually see it.

Actually I read the instuctions a little more in depth as I got to that angle. I believe I have it taken care of by luck or just working through it. I should be able to post a picture of a completed bike I hope in a week or so. Now that I am getting past the hard part am looking for cables and had a question on getting some parts there. When I was racing and building race cars I had a source for the wire and external cables in bulk. You just cut what you needed with a dremel tool and soldered on the ends but for the life of me cant seem to rember where I got that stuff any help here be great:)
Thanks Hans
