If you're using donor wheels for the spokes, and those flanges are 2 1/4" in diameter, you may be better off with these, and drill them out to 3/4" ID with a step drill from Harbor Freight. You'll get a much better fit on a 3/4" axle.

If you need the 3" diameter:

And the step drills:

Yeah I needed the 3 inch. And the thickness on the washers from grainger were dead on at 1/8"
Actually I have already drilled my hub flanges using the 3 inch washers.
Needed the 3 inch cause of using the old spokes.
Well not old spokes but ones that were in the wheels I bought.

I bought the 2.5 inch with 3/4 center hole also for a different build.
Bought 10 of each that way I got spares.

And with the way I am building my bolt on hubs the 13/16 hole isnt going to matter much.

Will Try and take some pics of my build tommorow if my sister will loan me her camera.
Mine died before I could download them to my pc. GRRRR

By the way your link is dead....

Not dead, just blank links. Kid, when you save the link, don't grab it out of the address bar of the browser, right-click the page and select "Send Link" (or "Properties" if in IE, I use FF), and collect the link from the resulting window. Or, just post the product numbers of each of the two items you were referring, and we can browse to it ourselves.

What was I thinking? Well I got one link right. Anyway, the links were for 3" OD x 11/16" ID washers from Grainger, and 2 1/2" OD x 11/16" ID washers from McMaster.

Looked through grainger dont see any.
Only one I get is 3 inch X 13/16.
Do see the 2.5 Inch X 11/16".

I can't get the link to work. Grainger item # is 5TA38 - 2 1/2" OD, 11/16" ID, 1/8" thick. I saw a 3" od at McMasters the other night, but now I can't find it. Here's the 2 1/2" OD part # from McMasters - 91117A231

Thanks to Trikeman, Gil's method of reducing the size of washer holes is resurrected:

I picked my washers from the machine shop, and the 5/8" holes were a little large. To swell the holes, so I could have a tighter, or snug fit, I took a ballpeen hammer with the rounded end and place it over the hole in the washer. I them placed the washer on the flat part of my vice and struck the face of the hammer with another hammer. This rolled the edge of the hole inward thus making for a snug fit, not a press fit.

Glad it worked out for you. For those that don't know, always wear safety glasses when striking tools with other tools. I have never had one shatter and ruin an eye, but I am told it does happen, as in these examples.

It never happened to me, but I worked with guys who had similar experiences. Thanks for the reminder.
