A couple of pics of my latest bodge.
I started this for a kid who has a twisted spine that has been plated and screwed to the point where he cannot ride a standard bike for long.
The seat back is contoured to his spine shape.
The complete seat can be adjusted fore and aft by 10", the seat back can adjust from vertical to very laid back.

Its very comfy and easy to ride.
Originally I had the chain running direct to the rear sprockets but I never thought about the spring compression on the power stroke. It was a strange pogo effect that although weird was quite easy to pedal.

The seat back it a little lower in this pic and the new chain run passes through the suspension pivot to remove all pogo effects.

here is the seat almost fully laid back.
Also Its using my folding steering column design.
I will have to change the skate board wheels for something a lot harder eventually but the chain runs easier than I thought it would.
Hmmm, test riding with no brakes, semi flat tyres, loose wheel bearings is a tad scary though.

Nice piece of engineering, and for a great cause. Before I saw why you built it, I was thinknig you need a bigger bike! All these pictures from OZ always remind me of growing in Miami, Florida. We had lots of the same plants, many of which came from there.

Yes, I hadnt run the seat back far enough to fit my length,I was in a hurry to test ride the new chain run.:D
Its a bit heavy as this is a test build that will be re-done with lighter parts.

Great looking bike for a great cause!!! Do you plan to add a head rest to make it more comfy for the youngster or is the backrest for the seat high enough to accomodate that?

Thats the next fitting session. Although I've found that with my head on the head rest of my marauder I do not have as much control. His back plates keep his head up so he may not need one.

Thanks guys but dont let on that the curved down tube is only held on with 4 tacks at the moment.
One bad thing with it is I will have to weld a cutout in the side for the front deraileur to slip into if I want the 3 chainring combo.
Theres 4 bikes in this, the bmx mongoose for the front suspension and bottom bracket, a 27" racer for sundry tubes, the huffy mountain bike for main frame and suspension, another huffy for the sub frame. All dumpsters, magic price.
