Got this update from a mailing list -- will do up to or over 72mph. I don't like the gas motor - noisy and dirty - with all those batteries and a 2000 motor, why do you need the gas motor??? backup incase the electric fails?

Yes, very cool. I agree though, the smogger engine seems to be the weak link. If that rear hubmotor is what I think it is - a Crystalyte Brute, then that fog spewing gas engine has nothing against it. The Brute will womp a 5HP gas engine anytime.

Does the gas motor charge the batteries?

Maybe. But if those are lead acid, the rate of charge VS the rate of consumtion would not be worth it due to the weight of the generator and gas engine.

Thats a small 4 stroke Honda motor, I think 31cc and a Staton Inc 16/1 gearbox setting on the rear of the bike and an interesting way of hooking it up.
