I was able to ride my bike to work today for the first time. So I was able to get a true road test in! The weather in Wisconsin has not been cooperating with my schedule and has caused some real delays in testing. On the plus side, I was able to get my seat covered and most of my rear rack/kickstand completed.

I am still working on a quick release for the rack in the upright position but the kickstand is working great. After a few more raod tests I will strip it down and paint.

Here are some picks that I took to share with everyone.

Cool stand/rack. We need to see more pics of that design.

Good job!

Now the tough part - taking it apart for paint. I hate waiting for paint to cure.

Awesome! I have been racking my brain on how to do a similar design but the thing is I want a dual kickstand that will hold the rear tire off the ground for tube changes etc. Hmm I think I just thought of something. Just an upside down "T" with a hinge... Hmm..

Now THAT's clever! Good job!

Ry, they still make "split-V" kickstands that mount behind the bottom bracket and fold up on either side of the rear wheel. They hold the rear wheel off the ground just like you say.

A little pricey, but it's done. You could make yours like it, and save money in exchange for your time and equipment.
