I'm trying to mount a one piece crank onto a 2" square aluminum tube and I'm a total newb when it comes to building bikes.

Found a photo online and this is exactly what I'm trying to replicate:

What all do I need to make it happen?

Thanks.

jeez, i wish i could help you, but havent a clue. it does look like the beginning of a joke..." a crank, a derailleur and a gear walk into a bar..."

My guess is that the body of the crank is a machined Ali piece in the photo, so it will weld.
If you have crank off a standard bike it will be steel and you cannot weld steel to Ali.
However, you could weld some tabs to the crank and bolt it to the Ali frame, as per many of the AZ plans.
This makes the crank position easily adjustable also.
