this is my grandsons first build. this was mocked up a couple of weeks ago. he will be here tommorow and he has decided to change and use a stringray rear w/20" wheel an 24" w/longforks front. he is doing this by hisself with me showing him how to do. he will not weld this but will do everything else to it. makes me feel real good that he has an interest in this. wish other kids were able to do this. he is 13, so will be a thrill when its done. will post pic after tommorow to show what it looks like after the changes.

thats cool start em early, give them something to be proud of. my son is 6, he's been building with me since he was 3. He comes up with some pretty killer ideas. I've used a few of his paint schemes. The kid has some great ideas

I envy children with parents that get them started early.. I can only dream of how 'less stressful' it would be to start building. You have first hand help, any problems you run into, you can just yell into the family room (haha) and there comes someone to fix it and teach you where you went wrong. Then when you are older you have the knowledge to expand at an early age, and do something with what you have learned. I was reading a book I picked up today and it said the average welder's age is 53 and by 2010 there will be a shortage of nearly 200,000 welders. That's a shame, but it does give me an opening ;).. I'm awful I know ..

One day I shall have a son of my own to teach my craft to..
Hopefully not soon though haha
