I saw a bike very similar to this one on Craigslist a few weeks ago. The guy finally called me back. He is asking $200 for it, but the batteries are toast. Anyone think its worth that? Nice heavy plastic wheels, tires and brakes.

It would probably undergo the knife (hacksaw) if I got it.

If both those wheels are 280 watt hub motors, I would easily pay that. If only one is a motor, it will be very minimal. Ok for a bit of assist, but prepare to crank like mad up hills.

I am not sure if it they are both hub motors or not, since I haven't seen it, and the model shown is newer. Given that the guy has had it for several weeks, he may take a low-ball price for a lot less. If I get a chance, I may go look at it. He claims it will do 20 mph on electric. For 2 motors it is a good deal, as you say.

Ooops - I just called the guy and he said they sold it.

Nah - I wasn't even sure I wanted it, and its about 30 miles from me just to go look. There is always another chance to spend money.

That's an opportunity you never have the chance to lose - spending money. If there were 2 motors, that would have been a good deal. I think I paid 17 bucks each the last time I bought 12v 12AH batteries for my computer UPS's.
