Has anyone who has built a streetfox changed the brakes to a rotor/set instead of rubber pad caliper style?

See Trikes built by Emma aka Twinkle- She has switch to Disc brakes. I believe there is a post that covers building a clamp on device to convert standard BMX wheels into disc brake wheels rather than converting the hub. Peter T sort of came up with the idea and Savarin did the posting with photos. If I can find the link I will post it. Been a while.

Over all I understand that it is a great up grade to braking.

Found the post in time here is is: http://forum.atomiczombie.com/showthread.php/3917-Disk-brake-adapters

Hi Wf

Done it to 4 streetfox variants, it works well and is a definite improvement 160mm discs work well and provides safe controlled braking
it only needs discs on the front, the caliper brake is ample on the rear ( except the MKII tadpole and the latest mod on the 20/20 both have discs on the rear )

post 30 on the 20/20 e-trike thread is one and the mkll tadpole is another with photos and there is a thread how to build a pair of disc brake wheels from standard BMX and MTB parts and a USS retrofit for the streetfox , hope these threads help add a bit more character to your streetfox , Also the lean mean and green thread id my standard streetfox with USS , Discs and a e-motor , and the article in the feb 2014 newsletter might help as well .

Photos from the mkll tadpole thread post 2 shows more detail http://forum.atomiczombie.com/showthread.php/8484-MKII-tadpole-trike/page2?highlight=mkll+tadpole

Good thread searching, and good find, DTD!!! Great looking trike, Emma! I love seeing your creativeness, and you have given so many great examples of how to research, develop, and modify things, especially AZ trike and bikes.

WF, in reading the forum threads, you might have discovered that there are instances whereby (a few) folks finish the Street Fox, then redo them by changing to disc brakes, creating a hard tail by removing the suspension spring, and redoing the steering to an USS system. Others, as you are thinking, make some changes in the planning stage of the building process. Still others, modify as they are building.

You may have already done so, but perhaps looking closer at the disc brake system of the Warrior plans, amongst others, could get you some more ideas, and ways to meld your build into your own liking. Warrior Foxes are not uncommon, as are other combinations.

That's a a good reason to get the 6-pack of plans. Also beneficial is reading this forum of great ideas.
