does anybody have any advice on cargo trikes (the ones with the steerable box)I have just started building one no pictures yet. I have decided to use 20" bmx wheels on the front on the front with 26"wheel on the rear I was wondering if anybody has any experience in the way they handle if they wobble going down hill?, is it advisable to have a steering damper on them

Hi mark

Just started one for a friend - ( he wants a pink candy floss trike ) the main problem is getting the steering /head tube vertical or the trike will lean the wrong way.:taz:

lots of photos on the net .

eg http://www.cargobikesystem.com/

I am using a mtb rear end and dropping the front to get the angles right , The mtb rear end is sorted but I need the steel to build the front . hopefully the carrier will bolt to the front forks and a tie bar back to the bottom bracket .

as for handling they are not designed for more than walking speed . most shop bought ones are not street legal as they don't have front brakes .
