I'm building a Streetfox in Winnipeg. While sourcing parts, I've had the pleasure of stumbling across the Bike Dump.

http://www.bike-dump.ca/

It's a dream for a bike hacker. They have literally hundreds of frames, and a whole pile they regard as unsalvageable, but which have perfect head tubes and dropouts and other stuff.

Inside, there are buckets of brake calipers, bearing rings, handlebars, shifters, derailleurs, forks, seats, wheels... you name it. There are racks of tools - all the ones you can't justify buying yourself. They are happy to let you pick through their bins and offer you top-notch advice. The man in charge, Cowboy, has a custom cargo bike you'd have to see to believe.

If you're in Winnipeg, drop by on a Thursday night or Sunday afternoon. (see schedule at the site above.) They appreciate volunteers too.

Happy hacking...

Thanks for the link. What a great idea! Notice who's silouette is at the bottom of this page? http://www.bike-dump.ca/announce.html
